Anthony Hodges
Anthony has spent a lifetime in journalism starting as a junior on the Kent Messenger working at Canterbury. He then moved to the Slough Express, another busy weekly.
From there he went to the Coventry Evening Telegraph where he worked and had charge of a number of their district offices
as well as working at head office as a general reporter and feature writer.
He then returned to Kent to help
set up and establish a newly created Courts Reporting Agency serving all the county's local papers and supplying copy to the
national press.
Next he joined The Times as a Parliamentary Reporter and spent the ensuing ten years covering the day-to-day debates
in both the Commons and the Lords. A favourite aspect of his work was attending
the party conferences (reporting on the Brighton bombing) and working at head office during the Parliamentary
recesses.
He left to join the Press Office at New Scotland Yard where he worked for eight years. His last six months were spent
producing a rap CD and video as part of the Met's ethnic minority recruiting campaign.
Anthony now combines consultancy work for creativeuk solutions with freelance journalism.
